La la la Lula

Lula is a bi-monthly magazine, which means you have to wait in anticipation for six months for each issue to come out. If Lula wasn’t such a delight I wouldn’t live in such despair!
If you haven’t ever devoured a Lula, then go get one ASAP because it is simply dreamy and bursting with whimsy.

Anyway, on to the pressing topic of Lula, Issue 11…
Guest edited by Laura and Kate Mulleavy, AKA Rodarte, this issue features cover star Charlotte Gainsberg (daughter of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsberg – how can one woman come from such inspiring stock? Well, she’s Charlotte Gainsberg, a name in her own right) the narrative of this edition is best described by Maria in “These are a few of my favourite things” (we’re talking The Sound of Music in case you were confused).

Laura and Kate have chosen to let us in on their favourite things through interviews, fashion spreads, collages and passion piece articles.
Aside from an ingénue muse and a duo of inspiring design sisters, this issue of Lula includes a feature interview composed by creative darling Miranda July, a magical fashion spread with film lovely Kirsten Dunst, interview with musical maven Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), discussion with mavericks Even Dando (The Lemonheads) and Juliana Hatfield (Blake Babies) and interview with Sophia Coppola who gosh damn… what adjectives can you use for SOPHIA COPPOLA?!

BUT Lula, is known for her fantastical fashion shoots… which is in no small part due to the fashion panache of Leith Clark who is a master stylist with an eye for peter pan collars, ankle socks, velvet, lace and butterfly hair clips.
